Knowledge is the antidote to fear.
RALPH WALDO EMERSON
James kept thinking about the money. He saw some of the traders around him making big profits every day and he was beside himself with envy. "Why can't I make that kind of money?" he would ask himself. "Is today the day I finally get it all together and start getting rich?"
He had taken several good training courses and read a dozen books on trading. Certainly he knew how to trade after all that effort. By now, he was beyond just thinking about the money; he was obsessed with it. Yet, it seemed that the more he focused on making money, the more money he lost. Almost out of trading capital, James was in a real bind.
At just the darkest moment, one of his most successful pals on the trading floor took him aside and gave him this advice: "Thinking about the money is getting in your way. Quit it. Instead, focus on learning about the markets and mastering your trading style. Get passionate about the process of trading. If you will leave it alone, the money will take care of itself."
