Why Software That Works May Not Be the One |

When Market Profile was developed here in Chicago, Larry Ehrhart was one of the first researchers and traders to see its potential. He has been a guest speaker at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Larry and I have known each other for nearly 11 years. He takes his work very seriously and works with his clients on a one-on-one basis. He is sort of a one-man band, and it is great to speak with someone who trades with the software he developed. |

Neal: Your software is so logical and so natural to the Chicago style of trading, I wonder why you are not more popular? |

Larry: I think part of the reason is that I am a trader who wrote software for my own trading, whereas the competition set out with programmers to develop software to sell. I do very little advertising. Second, Market Profile (which I emphasize) does not provide what most newbies want. They want an indicator that tells them what to do. I believe that neither you nor I could develop a mechanical system that would work long-term; if so, we'd own the world in a short time.
