Dr. Sid Kaz:
Training the Floor Trader
Sid was the first person to introduce me to trading Chicago style. Despite what people think, Sid was not in the "Board of Trade Civil War Brigade." However, his Ph.D. in education and understanding of human behavior is why Sid trains traders.
Neal: When I say "trading Chicago style," what pops into your mind?
Sid: Well, of course, it's the crowded pits, the waving of arms and shouting, a lot of excitement on the floor. You can feel the electricity in the roomit's floor trading.
Neal: Is it fair to say you've trained more people to trade Chicago style than just about anybody else in Chicago?
Sid: I would say that I'm probably up there with most, but you have to remember that no other firmthat I know ofhas made a commitment to provide an ongoing program to train floor traders. I started my career with SMW Trading back in 1984, and I was assisting the partners of the firm in training traders. After about two years, they stopped running the trading program and turned it over to me. I did have the advantage of
